Achievements and Assignments/Our Clients

Creek-Kenya has vast experience and competence required in effecting Natural Resources Management and Governance studies and trainings. Some of the tasks and achievements of the company include the following.
a) The company won the 2008/2009 International Bid Networks Nature Challenge in Environmental Enterprise, at Rotterdam, Netherlands. This competition was co-sponsored by WWF Netherlands.

b) The company supported the establishment of the Bee-Keeping and livelihood project in Mt Kenya, at Chuka in 2007. The results are that Ndigia Self Helf Group is now packaging honey and owns a profitable tree nursery at Kibumbu.

c) In 2006, the company supported the establishment of the Mpigi Women Ecotourism Project, Uganda, through training and soliciting for funds from Donors. USD 12,000 was raised from the Global Fund for Women, USA and the centre is now operational.

d) Between 2008 and 2009, the firm conducted a number of Environmental Impact Assessments and Audits for a number of companies in Kenya.

e) Development of an ecotourism and enterprise development strategy for Kamani Forest Reserves and Serengeti Stop Over LTD, Tanzania- Client- Kamani Family Foundation, Mwanza, Tanzania.

f) Study of rehabilitation of forests within the Lembus block, Koibatek District under the EU Funded Lembus Forest Project, to International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

g) Documentation and evaluation of the FRMCP Programme under the European Union FD Project, scoping on ecotourism- Client- FRMCP/ FD Uganda.

h) Development of an ecotourism and enterprise strategy for Uganda Forest Department, Forest Resources Management and Conservation Programme- Client EU funded FRMCP. Uganda.

i) Documentation of Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) for IUCN- Loita Naimina Enkiyio Project, in Loita, Narok District, Kenya- Client- International Union for Conservation of Nature- EARPO.

j) Baseline survey of the establishment of bee keeping and livelihoods programme for Mt Kenya East Association- Client MKEA, Supported by IFAD/ GOK

k) Documentation and Evaluation of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Global Forest Conservation Programme, Global- Client- International Union for Conservation of Nature, Switzerland.

l) Socio-economic baseline study for the Lembus Forest Project. Client- The World Conservation Union (IUCN), October 2006.

m) Facilitation the Planning Workshop on Institutionalization of CBO’s in Naivasha District- Client Legal Resources Foundation, Kenya.

n) ESIA- Socio-economic and ecological survey for the Olkarria- Lessos-Kisumu High Voltage Electricity Line- Client GIBB Africa/ KPLC, Kenya.

o) Development of a monitoring and evaluation strategy for Lembus Project- Client IUCN- East Africa Regional Office.

The firm has worked well with governmental and non- Governmental organizations in undertaking project assessments and developing monitoring and evaluation programs. We have also had a highly professional relationship with other business organizations and companies in East Africa, with our major clientele in Uganda and Kenya.
